Black tea - Queen among teas
Black tea is the most popular type of tea we can find in our homes. Many people associate it with the taste of childhood, when mother or grandmother served it during meals, especially breakfast and dinner, with the addition of honey, lemon, milk or alone. Although black tea has accompanied us from our earliest years, not everyone realizes that there are many varieties of it in the world, distinguished by their extraordinary taste and aroma. A rich cross-section of dried black tea from different corners of the Earth, including China, India, Georgia, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Kenya, is available to you in our store. Before finding its way into our cups, each of them goes through a production process consisting of four stages: withering, twisting, oxidation and drying. As a result of these steps, the infusion of black tea leaves is characterized by unique properties. Thanks to its high content of flavonoids, it inhibits the growth of bacteria in the digestive system and stimulates it to secrete digestive juices, which helps in digesting heavy meals and also promotes keeping in shape. It is also worth knowing that brewed black tea leaves have a health-promoting effect not only inside, but also on the outside of our body - a poultice of them relieves sunburn, acne symptoms, and reduces puffiness around the eyes.
Black tea - from buds to leaves
Various parts of the bush are used in the production of black tea - both the very fine leaves, the golden teepees, i.e. the first two leaves with their buds, and the most developed leaves. An example of a tea made from the youngest parts of the bush is Nepal Maloom. Its dried tea consists of buds and the least developed leaves. The infusion is characterized by a light, delicate color and a floral aftertaste. Golden teepees, on the other hand, are the hallmark of teas with a distinct flavor. They can be found in Assam Harmutty and Golden Yunnan, among others. Both infusions are popular with gourmets for their interesting amber hue and dry flavor. Lapsang Souchong, on the other hand, is a tea whose dryness was created from large leaves harvested from the lower parts of the bush. What distinguishes it is its unique "smoky" aroma, which goes well with hearty breakfasts and fish dishes. Also available in our store are tea blends created by harmoniously combining different kinds of black tea, such as Time for Tea Ceylon High grown OP and Darjeeling first flush), English breakfast (Assam Dekorai and Ceylon OP), or Turkish (Lapsang, Assam Dikom and Yunnan FOP).
