Mexico
Mexico is the world's seventh-largest producer of coffee, with an annual production of about 4 million bags. The crop is grown mostly on small farms, on organic plantations where the soil is fertilized with natural compost and animal manures. Mexico is also one of the largest producers of organic coffee and has all the fair trade coffees available - Utz Kapeh, Rainforest Alliance and Fairtrade Foundation. Our coffee is an arabica variety from the Chiapas region prepared using the so-called dry method, which reduces water and energy consumption. The cultivation allows the coffee plants to mature in the shade of other trees, which has a significant impact on the taste and aroma of the brew.
