China Gunpowder is one of the most distinctive and longest-cherished green teas originating from China. It gets its name from its traditionally rolled leaves, which take the form of small, tight balls resembling gunpowder. This method of processing preserves the freshness of the leaves, a more intense aroma and deeper flavor of the brew.
The tea comes from regions famous for their centuries-old tradition of growing green teas and has been prized for years for its distinctive, slightly herbal and subtly smoky character. The infusion remains harmonious, but definitely more intense than that of milder green teas, making Gunpowder a frequent choice for those seeking more pronounced flavors.
Taste: China Gunpowder is distinguished by a more intense, distinctive flavor than most classic green teas. The infusion is slightly herbal, subtly smoky and pleasantly fresh, with a slight bitterness and a distinctive, lingering finish.
Aromat: Distinctive, fresh and slightly smoky. There are herbal notes and the characteristic vegetal intensity typical of Gunpowder tea.
Dried appearance: Fine leaves tightly rolled into small balls with an olive-green and slightly grayish hue. The dryness is compact, firm and very characteristic of this classic Chinese tea.
Dry ingredients: green tea 100%
Country of origin: China
Preparation suggestion: Pour about 2-3 grams of tea into 200 ml of 75-80°C water and brew for about 2 minutes. Shorter brewing will preserve the freshness and softer notes, while longer brewing will bring out the more pronounced, slightly smoky character of the brew.
Gunpowder is also well suited for subsequent brewing - subsequent infusions will be milder, but still retain their characteristic depth of flavor.

The dried tea is recommended to be stored in a dry and cool place. The product may contain Almonds.

Classic:
Brewed briefly at a lower temperature, it strikes a balance between freshness and characteristic intensity. It tastes best served in simple porcelain bowls, which accentuate the golden color of the brew.
For oriental dishes:
Its distinct profile pairs well with Asian cuisine, rice and more flavorful dishes. The tea subtly cleanses the flavor and balances the spices well.
Cold brew:
When brewed cold, it becomes fresher and slightly citrusy, while retaining its distinctive herbal profile. It's a refreshing option for warmer days.
Signature: a tea ritual with character:
Gunpowder is best found in quiet moments, when one can fully focus on its more intense aroma and deeper flavor. The warm brew, natural light and simplicity of serving create an atmosphere inspired by the traditional Chinese art of tea drinking.
