Aromatic tea is an integral part of our lives. There is not the slightest doubt that this beverage is present in almost every home around the world. What is behind the phenomenon of tea? Why has it become so popular, as well as loved by an increasing number of people? To begin with, it is worth noting that tea can not only stimulate, but also nourish, stabilize, regenerate our body, and even heal and soothe it. Its various types, as well as ways of brewing - can be classified as a kind of ritual that applies to every social group. Rooibos, which is used to make one of the very many types of tea infusions, also known as African red bush, is becoming increasingly popular.
Rooibos - a phenomenon among plant infusions
Rooibos is a plant with many valuable properties for our body. It is grown only in South Africa, specifically in the Cederberg mountains. Rooibos tea is created due to the fact that the bush from which it is produced grows in perfect conditions, and has many opportunities for natural growth. Rooibos likes dry summers, steppe vegetation, as well as sandy soils and rainy seasons (which occur seasonally). Rooibos tea, otherwise known as Honeybush, owes its popularity to the fact that it has also been promoted in the UK and the Far East. Honeybush tea, by some, is completely wrongly categorized as a red tea. However, you should know that redbush remains absolutely unique, both in its origin, type and taste. It should not be combined with any of the popular varieties of tea infusion. Red honeysuckle is capable of reaching up to 2 meters in height, and its texture resembles pine needles (it takes on a yellowish color when it blooms). Rooibos, or rather, its leaves, are chopped and prepared in dried form, which is then used to make an aromatic infusion.
Rooibos tea - properties
It should be noted that Rooibos tea is an uncommon drink in every respect. Its taste is reminiscent of honey, it remains mild and does not have the bitterness characteristic of traditional tea. Honeybush tea in its composition does not contain tannins, so it does not resemble the typical tea we are already familiar with and is much milder. It will work perfectly, for example, before bed in a calming form, but not only. Rooibos tea is also a great antioxidant, thanks to its antioxidant content, which affects the removal of toxins from our body. Its precious substances also have a positive effect on the work of the immune system.
Honeybush tea - why is it so important for our health?
Honeybush has an intensive effect on the repair and cleansing processes taking place in our body, stabilizing hormonal levels, the state of systems and organs. It also influences the proper functioning of the heart, kidneys, liver, as well as the cerebral cortex. Rooibos red tea also supports and coordinates weight loss by stimulating digestive processes.
