Picking the leaves by hand allows for excellent precision and selection of the leaves, which are processed according to traditional tea-making methods. The picked leaves are subjected to wilting, usually in the sunlight. The initial wilting is followed by the rolling process, and the next step is fermentation. It is during this stage that the desired color of the leaves and the typical flavor profile characteristic of Golden Yunnan teas are obtained. Once the fermentation has been properly carried out, the leaves are dried, sorted and packaged. The golden leaves give the brew a deep amber color, which is the perfect complement to the smoky-earthy aftertaste. The brew is extremely aromatic and quite strong. A slightly spicy aftertaste adds uniqueness to the tea and emphasizes its aromatics. The whole is complemented by a delicately perceptible hint of dessert chocolate.
