Dried compote - recipe
Ingredients:
- at least 3 types of dried fruit - a total of 0.5 kg for every 2 liters of water (your choice of apples, pears, prunes, raisins, figs, apricots and others)
- Water - 2l for every 0.5 kg of dried fruit
- 50 g of Grzaniec Galicyjski composition - 50 g/2 liters of water
- zest from a fresh lemon or orange
- spices (your choice: ginger, cloves, cinnamon bark, nutmeg, cardamom and others)
- Sugar or honey - the amount depending on your preference, but no more than 1 cup
Preparation:
- Pour water over the dried Christmas Eve compote and set it aside in a cool place. It is best to do this two days before Christmas, then the taste of the compote will be deeper. If we do not have time, it is enough to let the whole thing stand for about 0.5 hours.
- Add sugar or honey, then put the pot with the concoction (do not take out the fruit) on the stove and heat it over medium heat - until it boils, and then another 10 minutes.
- A few minutes before removing the pot from the heat, add spices and lemon and/or orange zest to the compote, add the composition Grzaniec Galicyjski
- Cool the finished compote and set it aside in a cool place for additional flavor.

Attention: If the compote turns out to be too intense in taste or too sweet, we can safely dilute it with water. When sweetening the drink, it is worth remembering that dried fruits themselves are naturally sweet. So be careful with sugar or honey.
