Christmas cookies with tea flavor Christmas Eve Story
Ingredients:
- 300 g of honey
- approx. 600 g wheat flour
- 200 g sugar
- 1 egg (+ egg for spreading)
- 1/2 cup of strong tea essence of the Christmas Story (from seven teaspoons)
- 4 teaspoons of gingerbread spice
- 1.5 teaspoons of baking soda
- pinch of salt
- 1 tablespoon of oil
Method of preparation:
- Beat the honey with the sugar, then add the egg and beat again. Add cooled tea essence from the Christmas Eve Story, baking soda, salt and spice. Mix. Gradually add flour until you have an elastic dough that is light and easy to peel from your hands. Transfer it to a bowl, rub it with oil and cover with a cloth. Set aside for 4-5 hours.
- Roll out the dough to a thickness of about 5 mm, then cut out cookies with a cookie cutter. If you want to hang them on the Christmas tree later now make holes in them. Transfer them to a baking tray lined with paper and brush with beaten egg. Bake at 180°C on the middle shelf of the oven until lightly browned. (10-15 minutes). Study the cookies on a griddle, then transfer to an airtight jar and store until softened (2-4 weeks).
- Decorate the cookies before serving, preferably when they are already soft. You can use icing (for example, combined with any coloring), melted chocolate and various sprinkles.
