Accessories for matcha teas - The miraculous properties of matcha tea
Matcha is a green tea that is unusual for a number of reasons. The first characteristic that sets it apart is that it comes in the form of a green powder, making it easy to recognize at a glance. The powder is made by grinding young and soft leaves (without twigs or leaf nerves) from shady plantations on traditional querns. The restriction of light causes them to produce more amino acids, making the brew more aromatic. Another reason to reach for matcha is its rich micronutrient content. By consuming tea from the prepared powder, our body receives much more of them than in the case of leaf teas, whose dried tea immediately after brewing, along with valuable substances, goes into the trash. Moreover, in the case of matcha, it is not only its properties that are unique, but also the way it is prepared and consumed. In order to enjoy the excellent taste of this unusual tea, it is a good idea to get special accessories, such as a tea bowl (matchawan), a bamboo broom (chasen) and a bamboo spoon (chashaku).
Prepare the perfect matcha
It is worth knowing that the preparation of matcha derives from the Japanese art of tea brewing called Chanoyu, or the Way of Tea. Chanoyu is a ceremony of a solemn nature, during which the dried/powder is brewed according to traditional rules. All the steps are performed in concentration, with attention to the smallest detail, so that consuming tea brewed in this way is a unique experience every time. If you want to feel an equally extraordinary atmosphere and become a master of ceremonies in your home, get the right number of teapots, a broom and a spoon - these accessories not only play an important role during the preparation of tea, but also create a unique atmosphere.
How to use matcha accessories?
A matcha (matchawan) is a small bowl-shaped vessel used for preparing and consuming tea. To brew the perfect matcha, pour the green powder into it and pour water at 80 degrees. The right amount to pour in is measured with a special bamboo spoon (chaschaku), and then using a broom (chasen), you mix the tea powder with the water until foam forms. When the tea is ready, you can savor its taste. Consume matcha by holding the teapot in both hands, slowly raising it to your mouth. According to traditional rules, it should be drunk in three sips.
